How Has Social Media Changed Your Job?

In the beginning when social media entered the spotlight many were skeptical about what it could really achieve for them and how long the fad would last. As it turned out social media proved to be a very useful business tool that surpassed the ‘fad stage,’ and has rooted itself into today’s culture. Now the question is – what has social media done for you?

I have been with FTF for over a year now and my roles here have changed drastically from day one up through today due to the social media phenomenon. When I first started we were not very up on the latest and greatest social media tools. Since then we have created and utilized Twitter (@FTFNews), Facebook , LinkedIn and even our own company blog (which you can obviously see).  We have used these tools to enhance the way we plan and conduct our event outreach, as well as how we stay in touch with clients.

Social media has created a platform where we can ask thousands of individuals within the financial services industry a question simultaneously. It enables us to receive tons of feedback on what the hot topics affecting the industry are in order to ensure that they are covered on our conference agendas. It also allows us to stay in touch with our clients and even have them participate (check out our guest bloggers every Wednesday!). These are just a few ways that social media has enhanced our business – we would love to know what it has done for you!
